Opening Day Information

Opening  Date and Times-The first day for 2022 is Sunday, January 30th on the Branham High School field. Players must be registered on line to participate. U14/U12/U10 players (8th grade and below)  will be on the field from 1-3 p.m.  U16/19 (all high school players with at least one season of experience) will meet from 3-5 p.m. We will have loaner sticks available.

NOTE: Even if you are signed up, you will still need to drop off your completed tournament waivers. Players will not be assigned to any tournament teams until ALL tournament waivers are completely filled out and turned in. (We will send out a link to all registered players)

*Evaluations are for the coaches to see what level each player is at. It is NOT a tryout as all players will be accepted to the club. This will allow coaches to place players into groups depending upon experience and level of play. Many U14 and younger ages will be new to the sport. NOTE: Players that are new or in 8th grade or younger will come to the 1-3 evaluations/practices.

Required to play:

  • Completed online registration,
  • shin guards (soccer style will work)
  • athletic shoes (soccer style cleats or similar will work as well as tennis shoes)
  • mouth guard (available at sports stores)
  • stick (loaners are available for new players)

NOTE: For new players, Longstreth Sports offers great package deals that includes a stick, shinguards, ball and mouthguard. Check it out. If stick sizes are limited, you can look on the website for other offers or talk to a customer service representative. They are super helpful You would still need soccer socks to wear with the shin guards.  We have loaner sticks available until players are able to get their own sticks.

PROGRAMS AND LEVELS

Spring Club Season-Everyone that registers for Stryker Field Hockey Club is part of the Spring Club Season. Players will receive over 40 hours of instruction and game experience within practice sessions and tournament days.  We will practice on one weekend day (mostly Sun. with U12 and younger from 1-3 and U16/19 from 3-5 from January until May) and one weekday evening starting in March and running through May as well.  Coaches are assigned specific levels with age level Head Coaches that plan curriculum and work with other coaches to create a consistent and positive learning environment. Fees cover supplies, USFHA membership for the club (not individual membership dues), insurance coverage, tournament entry fees, coaching and field space. Sibling discounts are available ($25). Costs for all players is $650. This covers all tournaments, practices, field rental and other club costs.

East Shore Spring Club Season-East Shore is a part of Stryker Field Hockey Club but it is based in the East Bay and practices at Berkeley High School.  Currently a mid-week practice is not scheduled for East Shore but they will have weekly practices on the weekend and participate in all tournaments.  The cost for East Shore Spring Club is $525.  Be sure to register for East Shore when you are registering for the Stryker Spring Club Season.

Clinics-We will be offering various one to multiple day clinics for an additional cost.  These clinics will be based on player need and request.  Types of clinics can include hitting, scoring, defensive skills and more.  Guest expert coaches as well as qualified coaches will lead these clinics.

College Track-We will have several seminars which will focus on steps for players to reach the next level if they would like.  Seminars will focus on the steps needed, how to be recruited, creating a website and more.  We will offer video and small group mentoring clinics as needed.  More details coming soon.
